Number of Valid Votes
Secret Voting for important issues relating to owners’ investment | Position of Secretary | Position of Treasurer |
91 valid votes for each of motions 1 to 22 | 94 valid votes | 94 valid votes |
- There were 3 more valid votes for the position of Secretary and the position of Treasurer than there were for the Secret Voting for each of the 22 motions of important issues relating to owners’ investment.
- This means, 3 additional voters voted for the position of the Secretary and the position of the Treasurer than for important items affecting their investment
Same Issue Motions
- Same Issue Motions were not grouped together as one would expect to be best practise, especially when the body corporate and community management regulations were remade on 29 September 2020 to include same issue motions to be combined
- For more information, please refer to the following links
- The chairperson ruled owners motions out of order (marked O/O/O on the Voting Results Tally Sheet downloadable from the link at the top of the page) explaining in effect these were same issue motions to those submitted by the Committee which had already been voted on.
- You will note on the tally sheet, the same issue motions submitted by owners would have been passed had the Committee combined the motions and the Chairperson had not ruled the motion out of order, For example:
- Owner submitted Motion 13: Appointment of a New Body Corporate Manager ruled out of order by the chairperson would have been passed with 44 yes votes to 11 no votes
- Owner submitted Motion 14: Electronic Equipment ruled out of order by the chairperson would have been passed with 49 yes votes to 32 no votes
- Owner submitted Motion 15: Levy Payments ruled out of order by the chairperson would have been passed with 47 yes votes to 36 no votes
Other Owners’ motions that would have passed had the chairperson not ruled them out of order
- Other motions ruled out of order by the chairperson which had owners majority vote and would have passed include:
- Owner submitted Motion 17: CMS Community Management Statement ruled out of order by the chairperson would have passed with 53 yes votes to 29 no votes
- Owner submitted Motion 18: Committee Communication with Owners ruled out of order by the chairperson would have passed with 51 yes votes to 32 no votes with
- majority owners voting to pass that all bulk communication to owners from the Body Corporate Committee are to be sent only through the appointed Body Corporate Manager and no other
- Owner submitted Motion 21: Sinking Fund Investment Monies ruled out of order by the chairperson would have passed with 49 yes votes to 32 no votes
